The Building Department also works in cooperation with the Westfield Fire Department for fire protection and notification of all new and existing buildings.
The Building Department is responsible for reviewing and issuing all building, electrical, plumbing, and gas permits. All plans are reviewed for code and local zoning compliance. Individual inspectors inspect all construction to ensure the project complies with the approved plans.
