The Adventure Zone Child Care Program- Summer Camps
A full-day Summer camp for ages 5-12. Adventure Zone is designed for working parent(s) who need affordable childcare during the summer. Activities include, but are not limited to: arts and crafts, sports, tournaments, field trips, swimming once a week (Agawam State Pool), visits to the spray parks, environmental activities, guest speakers, and much more. Participants are divided into groups by age. The benefits of a camp experience are endless, but some include a sense of adventure, building self-esteem, socialization, interaction with peers, increasing creativity, and personal growth. Participants should bring their own lunch, snacks, and drinks. No refrigeration will be available, so lunches should be packed in coolers or with ice packs if needed. Water will be available for campers.

Adventure Zone Registration Form and fees for ages 5-12 are Check back in March 2024 _____per week per child.
(We will need a more complete form from you before camp starts) Please call the office at 413-572-6263 to mail you an AZ form or stop in. (One form per child) Once registration is complete, parent(s) will receive a handbook. Ages 5-12.
Junior Leaders-Ages 13 to 15- Call the office for a junior leader packet at 572-6263 They help to assist staff and learn roles.

13-year-olds Fee $ per week plus field trips
14-year-olds Fee $ per week plus field trips
15-Year-olds Fee - No charge Plus you pay for field trip expenses
To volunteer at Adventure Zone, please call the department at 572-6263 for a volunteer packet. Due to a large volume of requests Deadline is May 31 to return the junior leader packet and dates. We only take so many volunteers per week and the fees are not pro-rated.
Adventure Zone hours
Adventure Zone hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Children may be dropped off any time after 7:30 a.m. and picked up anytime before 5:30 p.m.
Please be aware field trips start in July and activities start promptly. Please be sure to see the newsletters for start times and a schedule of events. Those are available on on-site Fridays and Mondays each week.
Daily Rates -For parents looking for one or two days a week for childcare
If you need one to 2 days a week the fee of (Check back in 2024) __ a day and paid in advance every Friday, plus any additional fees for field trips. Any day may be chosen. (or write on registration drop-off the form attending one or two days a week)
Parent/Guardian Orientation meeting for the Adventure Zone program (Check back in 2024 for date) at the Pavilion Municipal Playground.
Please park on Greylock Street and walk over. The meeting will serve to inform new parents and guardians about the program before sending their children to Adventure Zone. Learn everything you need to know about the program, including activities being offered, field trips and swimming routines, volunteering roles, staff roles, and parent responsibilities. Everyone will receive the parent handbook at orientation. If you would like a handbook but cannot attend the meeting, it will be mailed out after registering a child.
Field Trips
Expenses to all field trips are the responsibility of the participants and their parents or guardians. This summer's destinations will include Play Bousquet, Brownstown Park, Look Park, the movies, roller skating, ice skating rinks, and much more. We also will go swimming once a week and visit the spray parks once a week. Weekly newsletters regarding field trips, events, fees, and more will be made available. Field Trips must be paid in Cash in an envelope with the permission slip and child's name. Checks, debit cards, and credit card transactions are not accepted for field trips. When submitting payments for a field trip, please place money in an envelope with the child's name and permission slip and give it to the two Directors of the Adventure Zone program.
Additional Details
- Camp staff have CPR training, are first aid certified, and have CORI / SORI criminal background checks.
- The program maintains a 1:10 staff/participant ratio.
- Camp is intended for ages 5-12.
- Medical forms are available along with permission slips. Example - Allergic to foods, inhaler for asthma, medication, etc. These will be printed in the parent/guardian handbook and given to the AZ Directors of the program on-site.
